3 Day Itinerary in Cork
Cork attractions
Day 1
Morning:
The English Market is free to visit and walk around, dive into Cork’s food culture with fresh produce, artisan goods, and tasty snacks. You could also walk along St. Patrick’s Street, a local hotspot for shopping. This main shopping street is great for souvenirs and grabbing a coffee.
Afternoon:
Head to Cork City Gaol, filled with rich history and culture, the 19th century former prison bring the stories alive. Audio tours are available, tickets must be bought to enter. Fitzgerald Park & Cork Public Museum are both free to enjoy, you can relax by the river, enjoy the playground and visit the free museum. Why not visit Shandon Bells & Tower, to ring the bells and get panoramic views of the city.
Evening:
Join us for dinner at NORTH, we offer a variety of cuisines and a great kids menu. Spend the evening listening to live music around the area, traditional pubs and bars can be found on every street.
Day 2
Morning:
Why not have a beach day, Cork is home to many beautiful natural coasts. Just a drive away Garrettstown Beach or Inchydoney Beach can be found. Garrettstown is popular for families and has scenic local cafes nearby, while Inchydoney (near Clonakilty) is great for gentle waves and has lifeguards in summer.
Afternoon:
Pack a picnic or lunch or try some local seafood around the area. You can walk the coastal trails or explore nearby small towns like Kinsale which is famous for food and colourful streets. Children can visit the playgrounds or paddle in the shallows.
Evening:
Head back to Cork and join us at The Address Cork for dinner in NORTH.
Day 3
Morning:
Stop by Collins Barracks Military Museum, gain an insight into cork history and the Irish army (entry is free). Stop by Crawford Art Gallery, which is free to enter and is Cork’s main art gallery, consisting of Irish historical and contemporary art. Stop by a local coffee shop or grab some breakfast. Some spots include: Tara’s Tea Room, Dukes Coffee Company, De Calf Cafe and Café Gusto.
Afternoon:
Travel to Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney Stone, you can wander the beautiful gardens and explore the grounds. Discover The Seven Sisters rock formation dating back to the Bronze Age. Have lunch at Blarney Woollen Mills café or at some local spots. Finally head back to Cork City.
Evening:
Why not catch a show, The Everyman Theatre is a classic and contemporary theatre (book ahead). While the Cork Opera House produces musicals, concerts and comedies. Enjoy Live Music at local pubs with live traditional Irish music, spots include: Sin É, An Spailpín Fánach and The Oliver Plunkett.
